Chorasan is a worldbuilding project I worked on together with Amir Khan Dj. Afschar for our Bachelor Thesis. You can check out his work here: https://adja.artstation.com/ . It is the vision of a future where our old world has perished and a new dystopia has emerged from its remains. Centered around the region of former Mesopotamia, the people of this new world need to go back to their roots, to the cradle of cultures, the Orient. Our main goal for this project was to experiment with merging oriental aesthetics with a science fiction theme.
The Abi Keshik (the blue guard) are the guardsmen of the neutral trade city Abi Shahr that lies in between the seven kingdoms. Their light but resistant gear is very close to the supreme technology of the old world. They are powerful and agile warriors who have to undergo various examinations and trials to ascertain their absolute incorruptibility. The design of their uniform also reflects the curved, floral aesthetic of the old world.
