CHORASAN: Sayad Eploratory Sketches and Concepts

The bracer of the Shahin Clan is an important part of gear: It functions similar to a swiss army knife, providing projectiles, extendable knives and other tools albeit only needing very little space and weight on the forearm.
The tents of the Shahin Clan are simple, onion-shaped constructions which can quickly be assembled and disassembled.
Chorasan is a worldbuilding project I worked on together with Amir Khan Dj. Afschar for our Bachelor Thesis. You can check out his work here: https://adja.artstation.com/ . It is the vision of a future where our old world has perished and a new dystopia has emerged from its remains. Centered around the region of former Mesopotamia, the people of this new world need to go back to their roots, to the cradle of cultures, the Orient. Our main goal for this project was to experiment with merging oriental aesthetics with a science fiction theme.
The Sayad are one of the main factions of Chorasan: A nomadic folk consisting of many smaller clans, they wander the Bahr Mordeh in search of ruins of the old world, always hunting for precious technological artifacts. They are well equipped and use the old technology to enhance their gear, while also selling the artifacts in the neutral trade city Abi Shahr. Katayoun, Chorasan's main character, belongs to the Shahin Clan (Hawks) of the Sayad.
