Fahrenheit 451 Redesign: Firemen Uniform and Helmet Design

Semester work as part of my illustration class. My goal was to adapt Ray Bradbury's famous dystopian novel "Fahrenheit 451" and to develop a new and appealing science fiction aesthetic for it. I also wanted to clearly distance myself from the look of François Truffaut's film adaptation.
Regarding helmet and uniform design of the firemen I was oriented on the various animal motifs that show up in the novel, especially the black beetle, mantis and skull owls. I also designed a new logo for the phoenix.
